Internship Programme
For law students who want to see how a disputes practice is actually run.
Interns at Vertari Legal are attached to the partner's team for the period of the internship and work on the matters that team is conducting. The work is research and writing: legal research on live questions, notes on judgments, first drafts of applications and written submissions, and the preparation of briefs for hearing.
Interns attend court with the team and sit in on conferences where the client permits. Each piece of work is reviewed, and the intern is told what was kept, what was changed and why.
Internships are offered for a minimum of four weeks to students in the third year of a five-year course, the second year of a three-year course, or later. A certificate is issued on completion. Applications should be sent by email with a curriculum vitae, the proposed dates, and a sample of written work.
